This is my latest woodworking project. This tea light holder is an easy wood working project that even beginners to woodworking can take on. I made it with a piece of live edge English Walnut. The hardest part will be finding the perfect piece of wood.
This particular live edge piece of wormy English Walnut wood came out of a woorking orchard in California. I fell the tree 3 or 4 years ago and air dried the manageable pieces near my home. This particular tree had blackline and quite a few parasitic insects living in it. Not everyone likes that look, but I love the character it brings to the finished work piece. I have done quite a bit of woodworking over the years, and I like the unique look of this type of wood. I really think the wood from this tree is beautiful, and loved working with it.
